Is your child bilingual? Why don't you offer him or her the opportunity to take the internationally recognised IGCSE First language English exam?

The GCSE is the British national education exam for all secondary school pupils in the UK, and the IGCSE is the international version. Having the IGCSE demonstrates that your child can use English as a tool in an academic context. The certification is therefore one of the keys that will open doors to universities and international organisations for your child.

Teens preparing with the world's English experts will:

  • develop the ability to communicate clearly, accurately and effectively in both spoken and written language
  • learn how to use a wide-ranging vocabulary, use correct grammar, spelling and punctuation, and develop a personal style and an awareness of the audience being addressed
  • be encouraged to read extensively, both for their own enjoyment and to further the ways in which English is used.
  • analyse language, using their mastery of the English language to explore the writer's intended effect on the reader.

Who is IGCSE for ?

Our First Language English IGCSE curriculum is for learners who speak and write in English fluently. It is a two-year programme starting in troisième and finishing in seconde. At the end of seconde, they sit the IGCSE exam and gain the certificate.

What is IGCSE?

The IGCSE was created for and tailored to a multi–cultural, multi–lingual audience in a way that UK GCSE examinations are not, yet it is fully aligned to the standards of the UK GCSE.

Our programme develops essential lifelong skills in both an English-speaking and a broader international context, including creative thinking and problem-solving, as well as more general analysis and communication skills such as synthesis, inference, and the ability to order facts and present opinions effectively. It also helps learners to:

  • develop the ability to communicate clearly, accurately and effectively when speaking and writing,
  • learn how to select and use a wide range of vocabulary, and the correct grammar, spelling and punctuation,
  • develop a personal style and an awareness of the audience being addressed.

It is widely accepted in higher education institutions as proof of high ability in English. Find out more information about IGCSE recognition at higher level education institutions in the UK and across the world.
