All of our passionate and dedicated teachers meet the highest international standards with formal qualifications and extensive experience in teaching English to children.

Our minimum requirements for teachers are:

  • education to degree level or equivalent qualification
  • a certificate level qualification in teaching English as a foreign language such as Cambridge University CELTA or Trinity College London CertTESOL
  • at least two years’ teaching experience
  • high proficiency in the use of the English language.

Daniel Clark

Daniel is an experienced English language Teacher and Teacher Trainer. He holds the Cambridge DELTA certificate in teaching English to Adults, as well as other certificates in Cultural Awareness Training, Online Course Tutoring, and is a Cambridge Speaking Examiner. 

Ioana Ciodaru

Ioana Ciodaru

Ioana has been teaching English for 10 years, first at the university of Pitesti and now in Paris.  Her qualifications include the Oxford Teacher’s Academy Masterclass; TYLEC; CELTA ; Teaching English in Pre-Primary Education, Nile, UK and a PhD in Philology.  Her aim is to bring some poetry into the classroom because it promotes literacy, builds communities and fosters emotional resilience in children and adults.

Eileen Connolly

Eileen has worked in different bilingual Montessori schools for over 20 years across Paris and its suburbs. She has been working for British Council for the past ten years and now teaches our English pre-schoolers at Wagram. Eileen uses storybooks with young children and also plays an active role in our storybook based holiday classes for early years and primary students.

Ian Kitching

Ian has a Trinity TESOL, Cambridge CELTYL, Cambridge DELTA and NILE teaching pre-primary children. He has also been an IELTS examiner and in management for many years. He has been teaching in language schools, universities and the British Council in Belgium, Spain, Vietnam and France for almost 20 years.  He loves teaching younger children, in particular, as they are so motivated and he enjoys using lots of songs, stories, role-plays and games to engage with these age groups.

Sophie Lockett

Sophie Lockett, Teacher Coordinator

British Council

Sophie has worked as an English language teacher in France since 2014. She holds CELTA and DELTA qualifications, with a specialism in teaching English to Young Learners. Sophie also has a degree in French Studies from the University of Nottingham and is currently the Early Years and Primary Coordinator at the British Council in Paris. She particularly enjoys working with Early Years and Primary students, and holds a qualification in Teaching English in Pre-Primary Education.

Chris Remick

Chris Remick joined us in 2014. He obtained his CELTA certification in 2012, then taught for two years in Hanoi, Vietnam. In Paris, he teaches a range of different levels (beginners, business, exams). Chris has presented many talks, and has also recorded two 'Mini-English' British Council videos.
