Zoé Allait, laureate of the 2022 Herbert Smith Freehills - Cercle Montesquieu scholarship

Zoé Allait is the Herbert Smith Freehills 2022 laureate. She is currently studying for an LL.M at King's College London.

I grew up in Annecy and I studied at Jean Moulin Lyon 3 / IDEA University. Passionate about the world of business and enterprise, I first did a Bachelor's degree in private law and a DU of American Common Law and then a Master's degree in Business Law and Taxation - DJCE in order to become a lawyer in competition/contract/distribution law. During my years of study, I was lucky enough to be able to maintain a balance between university life and personal life. I continued to practise drama and languages as well as sports as often as possible!

I also got involved, first in an association of debate cafés as Vice-President, then in the Lyon DJCE Association as co-President. These experiences allowed me to understand current issues such as the importance of languages and especially English in the business world, as well as CSR / SSE, social and environmental themes that are developing more and more in the entrepreneurial world. Wishing to make law accessible, I actively participated in the Ambassadors of Law project, created by the Lyon DJCE Association, allowing the legal sector to be presented to as many people as possible. I also taught law courses at the Jean Moulin Lyon 3 University.

Having always been very interested in the United Kingdom since my youngest age, I decided to complete my studies with an LL.M at King's College London and was able to make this project a reality thanks in particular to the scholarship from the British Council.
