Students at Collège Flora Tristan and South Holderness Technology College worked in partnership on all aspects of production of the film 'Star Crossed Lovers', producing a modern version of this timeless tale which was already very familiar to both British and French students.

Students were motivated by this cross-curricular project and enjoyed a wealth of activities from script-writing and production to being actors or camera operators. The project also brought together teachers from both sides of the Channel all year long via the preparation of classroom activities and of course the reciprocal exchange visits.

This partnership was initiated by the two schools in 2005 and has been strengthened each year through the introduction of renewed themes, which 'keeps us from getting stuck in a rut', according to M. Sempéré, a teacher at Collège Flora Tristan.

Following projects on Dracula and Romeo and Juliet, the two schools now intend to make a film about the Industrial Revolution using texts from Dickens and Balzac.
