The Séminaire en Avignon is an initiative launched by the Festival d’Avignon and Pro Helvetia, offering emerging young practitioners in theatre and dance a platform for an immersive and practical exchange with their peers.

Artists from several countries are selected to take part in an intensive week discovering contemporary artistic expression in theory and in practice, at the Avignon Festival in July. Accompanied by a facilitator, participants on the programme attend performances, meet professional theatre practitioners from Europe and beyond, and take part in debates with artists, critics and specialists from the performing arts field.
