Magnetic is a joint Franco-UK initiative supported that brings together eight venues to create a programme of artists' residencies of 2 to 3 months.
The programme has been designed to foster artistic development through exchange and to enhance sustainable cooperation between the UK and French visual arts scenes in the longer term. It will gradually build an expanding network of partner institutions with shared commitments and values.
Each residency is based on a tandem partnership between one French region and a UK nation. Artists from each one of the four regions in France are invited to apply for the residency based in the associated UK nation; and artists from each UK nation are invited to apply for the residency based in the associated region in France.
