The 2024 edition of the Normandie Impressionniste Festival includes exhibitions by UK artists David Hockney and Oliver Beer.
David Hockney launches the festival and presents a new exhibition, Normandism, at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Rouen from 22 March to 22 September 2024. Around thirty recent pieces by the English painter, who has lived and worked in Normandy since 2019, are presented among the permanent collections.
Oliver Beer presents Resonance Paintings, his interpretation of Monet’s famous Nymphéas, translating musical harmony into a visual language on impressive canvases. The works are on display from 23 May to 21 July at Hangar 107 in Rouen.
This project is in partnership with Frac Normandie.
The British Council is supporting Normandie Impressionniste Festival through the UK/France Spotlight on Culture programme.
