Starting in October 2024, at the Musée d'Art Moderne de Paris, thousands of children will contribute to the creation of a participatory artwork titled A Thousand Voices as part of the Reanimation Paintings series, conceived by the British artist Oliver Beer.
Oliver Beer has selected four works from the MAM collections, which will be reinterpreted into four films created by the artist at the end of the project. These films will be produced using drawings and sound recordings made by the young participants.
This participatory experience, involving students from nursery to secondary school, aims to establish a new relationship between the public and the MAM collections. The artist and the museum seek to offer children a genuine opportunity to reinterpret artworks and to see their creations become part of the museum's collections.
